Having married a lovely Korean woman, I’ve been to my fair share of karaoke parties. According to my wife, I’m the guy who will always pass the mic to someone else (much to everyone’s chagrin, right?). The true reason behind this generosity has less to do with modesty than it has to do with prevention: you don’t want yours truly with that mic, or else you’ll be treating the whole place to the Ben Lau Show for the rest of the glorious, albeit memorable evening. Alice & Patrick had one such party after their wedding this past summer, but sadly my co-driver back to NJ that evening zonked out before we even left the West Village :). Despite this, I’m sure these two professional musicians figured out how to make beautiful music together that evening, without the interference of their wedding photographer belting out a drunken rendition of Rapper’s Delight in the background :).
