I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love Baltimore, and I love (mostly) everyone in it! There’s something about my fellow Baltimorean who’s like your Cousin Larry who just speaks his mind and you can’t help but admire the profound truth in his candidness. The down-to-earth-ed-ness (I totally just made that word up) of these folks is what makes them so spectacularly awesome. No pretense, no frills and just take’n care of business! I was first introduced to Lauren and Tony last year through a former colleague of mine (Hi Alice!), who was probably just as surprised to see me go from being a so-so financial advisor to becoming somewhat of a wedding photography anomaly. Alice and Lauren are cousins, and are as Baltimorean as they come – fun, down-to-earth, and just taking care of business. Tony’s originally from NJ, but he’s fun, down-to-earth and taking care of business too :).
Lauren and Tony met while in college in West Virginia. Fast forward to the present day, they’ve now made a nice little life for themselves in the suburbs of Baltimore (and we would’ve totally been neighbors if I hadn’t met my wife 6 years ago!). When they told me they would be hosting their reception at The Belvedere, I was beyond thrilled. Located in the historic neighborhood of North Charles and relatively free of all the commercial attachments of the Inner Harbor, its century-old facade and gleaming interior just screams: “Yeah, there’s going to be a pretty awesome wedding inside. Better get your cameras ready!”
With two kids in diapers in the midst of wedding season, I consider myself lucky just to walk out of the house with matching shoes :).

Lauren and Tony, thank you for sharing your spectacular day with us! It was an immense honor for us to not only be there as your photographers, but also as your friends. We wish you two all the happiness in the world. We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
As for us here at HQ, some nasty GI bug caught us off guard these past few days which has made this posting marathon a grueeeeeling ordeal. But with clients like ours and the smiles their images put on our faces everyday makes it all worth the while. We’ve got much, much more on the way folks. So sit back, relax and enjoy some of the most awesome-tastic weddings of the year!
Much love,
Ben & Karis
PS. Just realized after I pressed “post” that the other couple from this morning’s engagement session post, Christine and Chalita, will also be hosting their wedding at the Belvedere! Totally unplanned, promise!
