When we were in the planning stages of Marlee & Ziggy’s engagement session, I’d sent her a tome of location ideas for their session. In the post-script, I casually mentioned that if our schedules aligned, I would be happy to step out of my comfort zone and do something a little crazy, like a hike atop a mountain and do our photos there. It didn’t matter which mountain, really. It just seemed like something fun to do.
Turns out, Marlee & Ziggy are avid hikers (like me!). Talk about finding clients in your own tribe!
Fast forward to the week before our scheduled engagement session in Bear Mountain, Marlee completes her first ever marathon (not just any Marathon…THE New York City Marathon!). It’s also important to note that she woefully undertrained for this race, and found herself becoming the new owner of the sexiest orthopedic boot that money can buy.
And despite this, we still climbed up alongside a freaking mountain to get these shots. This girl is AMAZING (you’re not too bad yourself, Ziggy). With the sun quickly dipping towards the horizon, we snapped some of the most incredible sunset images we’ve taken this year. It was totally worth it!
