Over the years, there have been tons of friends who’ve assured us that they’d contact us for anything photo-related. If I could get a nickel for every time someone said they’d hire us, and then ultimately end up hiring someone else – I would be a bajillionaire swimming in coins like Scrooge McDuck :). I wouldn’t say I’m a cynical pessimist, per se. Quite the contrary; I’m a cynical optimist – I’m always looking for the silver lining in life because there’s always some frigg’n storm cloud in the way :).
But I digress.
Unless you’re my father, there are very few people in the world who’ve followed our journey into wedding photography for as long as Minna has. In fact, there are very few people in the world whom I’ve known for as long as I’ve known Minna (almost 20 years…and counting!). Long before there was an Anthony in her life, she made one thing very clear to me: if she ever met her Prince Charming, she knew 100% that she’d want me there to document the most magical day in her life. As I prepared myself to receive another metaphorical nickel to add to my already-enormous collection, I received an email from Minna instead. As if the invitation to document her wedding wasn’t enough, she coordinated her wedding day with our schedules, and even drove all the way up to NYC from Baltimore for their engagement session! Keeping promises is one thing, but this girl took it too a whole ‘nother level!
So I wanted to take a few moments to thank Minna & Anthony for trekking all the way up here to my neck of the woods for their engagement session. Trying to run a wedding photography business (especially up here in NYC & NJ) is a monumental task, and it’s very easy to be cynical of everyone’s promises and well-wishes. But Minna & Anthony has reminded me that sincerity does exist in this world, and I’m whole-heartedly grateful for that.
It was a chilly day here in Brooklyn when they arrived. Minna & Anthony wanted something fun, casual and incorporated lots of props they’d brought with them (you’re going to have to ask her for those). Here’s a peek of their Brooklyn engagement session!
