When I received a surprise email from Nicole a year-and-a-half ago, I was utterly speechless. Never mind the fact that she’s surrounded by all that photography talent down there in the DC/Baltimore Metro area, or the fact I still managed to have people on my friends list whom I’ve yet to officially photograph (honestly, I thought I got all of you already!). In all seriousness though, the most touching thing about her email was that she’d been a fan of our work since the very beginning. So unless you’re my mother, there are very few people in the universe who’ve been fans of my work for longer than Nicole. That realization, as a photographer who literally started from nothing, to have someone supporting you from the very beginning, to say to themselves “When it’s my turn, I’m going to reach out to Ben.” – receiving her touching email was one of the biggest compliments I’d ever received in my career.
But back to the main character of this story :).
We arrived at Nicole & Joe’s respective hotel suites that morning at the Hotel Monaco in downtown Baltimore. It was late Fall, the air was brisk, and it was quite clear everyone was ready to celebrate a wedding, halloween and the Ravens – though not necessarily at the same time, nor in that order. I personally loved seeing all the familiar faces from my high school and college days, but one of my favorite parts of this wedding was the gorgeous-ness of EVERYTHING. You really could not ask for a more beautiful church, nor could you ask for a more amazing reception space. The George Peabody Library had been on my bucket list of awesome wedding venues in Baltimore for quite some time now, and I was simply more than elated to share that experience with this equally amazing couple. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish you two the very, very best on this next chapter of your journey together – and we can’t thank you enough for sharing your day with us!
