As a New York City wedding photographer, there have been several venues that were/are on my bucket list of wedding venues where I absolutely needed to shoot before I retired my cameras for the rest of eternity: Oheka Castle was one of them, and The Metropolitan Building was the other. My reasoning? In a nutshell: the moment you step onto their respective properties, it was like walking into a awe-inspiring fantasy world (albeit with two very different kinds of looks). What we loved about the Metropolitan Building (and I’d imagine our brides and grooms would agree) was the organized medley of chaos that came together to create an environment filled with a unique, rustic charm to go along with all that gorgeous lighting.
Jen & Justin started their day that morning on opposite ends of the building, with all their wedding details spread out over the antique furniture pieces. We found shoes, dresses, flowers and jewelry tucked away between the neatly organized piles of trunks, chairs and mirrors from centuries past. The little wedding photographer fan-boy inside of me was jumping for joy :).
