[Wedding] Marleen & George – Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, NJ

Unbeknownst to many, I’m actually an unapologetic math-nerd disguised as an occasionally witty wedding photographer with a bottomless bag of terrible jokes. I mean seriously…who else does math problems in their head while on their morning run? (I’m almost pretty sure there’s an Asian joke somewhere in there….) So throughout my morning runs, my typical wedding days, or just life in general, I’ve come to perceive everything in terms of probabilities. As I’ve settled into NJ over the years, I’ve come to accept some of these probabilities as a fact of life. For example, my chances probably aren’t that great using the Lincoln Tunnel at anytime of the day (or night, for that matter). Additionally, there is a 9/10 chance that the truck lanes are moving faster than the car lanes throughout the NJ Turnpike (you’re welcome, travelers!).

So what are the chances that an illegal street race would be taking place on a typical wedding day….precisely on the road that you’re on….and hold up traffic for almost 3 hours?

Next to nil, apparently.

Long story short, since I’d already factored in the probability of an alien invasion or a tsunami hitting the Eastern Seaboard into their itinerary, our lovely couple Marleen & George (along with their wonderful bridal party) made it to their venue with just enough time to spare. After a few minutes of camera time with yours truly, they finally got to do what they came here to do: PAR-TAY! At this moment, I’m happy to report that their probability of success was probably somewhere in the ballpark of 100%, and they achieved that with flying colors.
