Here’s a fun fact: I’m terrible at receiving compliments. Like, embarassingly terrible. Whenever I see a high-five come my way, or get a pat-on-the-back, I’ll customarily respond with a polite nod & “thank you”, unsure if my response is adequately sufficient, or if I even deserved the praise in the first place. Perhaps it’s the natural insecurity that most creatives feel, or maybe it’s my upbringing in an Asian household that brainwashes kids to believe that a job well-done is expected and the norm, not some lofty goal reserved for the chosen few.
So when Katrina approached me after we’d just wrapped up her brother’s wedding several years ago, she swore she was going to come find me when it was her turn to get married. And of course, she got the customary nod & “thank you” from yours truly. I was humbled and flattered, but honestly I was also just doing what I always do. This was a woman who clearly knew what she wanted, and made sure she got it.
This means it was also no accident that Stephen would be standing up there watching his beautiful bride coming down the aisle at the Park Savoy. It was all part of the plan :). These two are childhood sweethearts who would spend their summers down the shore, likely filled with late night walks along the boardwalk, bike rides to their favorite pizza place, and watching the stars together. I can’t corroborate any of this, but it’s my story and I’m sticking to it :).
Fast forward to the present day, we’ve got these two lovebirds celebrating their official union at the Park Savoy – a wedding celebration that both families have been expecting for well over a decade. From the bottom of my heart, I send my sincerest nod and most gracious thanks to these folks for allowing us to document such an amazing milestone for this family once again!
