I’ll be the first to admit that summer weddings in the Northeast can sometimes be the most challenging. As the old adage goes: “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity!” Through some mysterious act of divine providence (and some polite prodding), I’d somehow become the go-to guy for professional advice regarding the wisdom of having an outdoor ceremony on a 87° day without a cloud in the sky. Would I be responsible for guests passing out in the middle of the ring exchange? Or would I be responsible for undoing all of the hard work that the floral/design team had already put into setting up the outdoor space?
The verdict? Here were the facts: 100 years from now, nobody will remember/know how hot it was that day (simply by looking at the photos). As long as we kept grandma within diving range of Rockleigh’s beautiful fountain, and kept our bride and groom well-hydrated for those 15 minutes – we were good to go. At the end of the day, I’m so glad that Jooyoung and Jin powered through their beautiful outdoor ceremony, and we have all the beautiful images to prove it.
Jooyoung & Jin’s understated and subtle affair at the Rockleigh Country Club was filled with laughter, friends, performances and all things that make a wedding wonderfully memorable – and we were honored to have been a part of it.
