Saving the best for last – at least that’s what they say anyway :). As we enter the fourth month of the year, we’re celebrating my last wedding of 2015 – with none other than the wedding of photographer extraordinaire Danny Villamar and his beautiful (now) wife/model-extraordinaire Lessy, at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge. When I first met these two, I’ll have to admit that I was feeling a bit uneasy; not simply due to the fact that he’s a fellow photographer, nor the fact that it’ll take a real goof to seriously mess up the photos of these two photogenic lovebirds. No. It’s the fact that he’s such an exceptional photographer, in a world where literally “everybody” is a photographer – and it took me YEARS to get to where he is today (and he’s only been at it for only 1 year!). Time to step up my game for 2016 :).
There were many things we loved about this wedding; the venue, her dress, their crazy DIY photobooth props, and especially those awesome bride-and-groom Lego figurines. While I had lost my voice from the previous evening’s wedding (and was now seriously afflicted with an embarrassing/incessant case of the hiccups), I don’t think I’ve ever been as relieved to be photographing a fellow photographer. They were able to pose/direct themselves, and I was simply there to press a shutter and provide entertainment for the evening. All that laughter you see in their portraits? That’s them laughing at my hiccups. Hey, whatever works :).
