Having photographed several hundred weddings over the years, we’ve seen all kinds and flavors of every type of wedding imaginable. When clients ask me about our shooting preferences, or about our favorite venues, the honest truth is that none of that really matters. What matters most are the two individuals who are about to make a lifelong promise to each other – and that’s it. As their photographer, it’s my job to capture exactly that (along with a number of important details & moments of their day, as any good photographer should). Whether the tone of the images take on an editorial vibe, or one that is more documentary, or whimsical – whatever lights their creative fire, we’re simply there to throw some wood their direction and document what happens. There is beauty in authenticity, and there is power in being present in the moment. For this reason, we’ll never try to sway our clients to project themselves a certain way, or to have certain items in their itinerary. This is their special day, not ours. Case in point: many of our couples (excluding present company) are undecided about doing “first looks” for their own wedding day, as they’re afraid this would take away the impact of seeing each other for the first time as the bride is coming down the aisle. Jasmine & Mike’s gorgeous outdoor ceremony at The Tides Estate disproves all of that, as there was certainly no shortage of emotions that afternoon :).
Jasmine & Mike come from a very, very long line of previous clients (most of whom I can trace back to 2010!), and we’re just floored to be in such familiar company even after all these years. Jasmine & Mike’s summer wedding at The Tides Estate was nothing short of spectacular, as they muscled their way through one of the warmest summer days I’d ever experienced. Luckily, we budgeted plenty of down time, and found ourselves in some of the newly renovated (and thankfully, air-conditioned!) spaces on the property for some more “GQ photos” (as our beautiful bride likes to call them).
I don’t care what anybody says, but ya’ll look fabulous, GQ or not :).
