With this wedding, we had the opportunity to combine three of my favorite things: my favorite season, one of my favorite NJ wedding venues, and two of my favorite people in the world. There are people who love the sand between their toes with an umbrella drink in hand. There are others who love the color of Fall foliage with a pumpkin spice something in their hand. For Carolyn & Mike (along with yours truly), we’re most at home with the sound of snow crunching under our shoes, with the smell of logs burning outside, and the crispiness of winter biting against our faces. We’re probably a rare & strange breed of humans, but I suppose that’s why we were here, in the middle of December, sipping on hot chocolate, celebrating this long-awaited wedding day with both sides of this beautiful family :).
In front of the backdrop of The Lodge at the Stone House at Stirling Ridge, surrounded by a wall of evergreens in the distance, Mike saw Carolyn for the first time in her wedding dress and immediately broke down in tears. This was a moment he’d waited his whole life for, and he couldn’t have asked a more perfect day that was executed in the most perfect way. To top it off, Carolyn surprised Mike with an indoor snow machine for their first dance, something he’s always wanted – and even I was “this” close to tears :). These two are so perfect for each other, and it’s so evident in all the little things that they do for one another. All said, we’re so incredibly honored to have documented this wonderful day for them.
