If there’s one day in your life when you can indulge in all of your guilty obsessions, it would have to be on your wedding day. For some brides, it’s the shoes, clothing and accessories. For others, it’s the food, floral and decor. And then there are some, I imagine, who just wish to overwhelmed with fun and celebration while surrounded by all their loved ones. Lauren & Ari would fall into that latter camp, and made sure of it…by arming all their guests with glitter cannons at the conclusion of their ceremony. Of course, being the laser-focused wedding photographer that I am (or should be, rather), I didn’t realize that I was standing in the line of fire between the cheering crowds and the church’s entryway. Long story short, as soon as the bride & groom stepped out into the street to greet their adoring guests, I immediately regretted my decision to stand there and quickly found myself engulfed inside an apocalyptic whirlwind of sparkly things. It took a few showers over the course of a few days to finally remove all that glitter from my body, but I’m happy to report that I got the shot. I better have!
