I would consider myself somewhat boring, as far as first-dates go. Not only did Karis get the lunch special from the Cheesecake Factory by agreeing to go out with yours truly, she also got to spend a whole afternoon in deep, meaningful conversation with the future father of her children. Cha-ching! But if I really had my way, our first date probably would have involved some form of donuts and cheeseburgers, as evidenced in my bios across all the various social media platforms out there. And just by sheer coincidence, we actually met a couple who did just that: Lauren & Ryan. These two are my heros!
When these two lovebirds shared their story of their first date, I was both flabbergasted and envious. Throughout their courtship, there was no pretense, no BS – it was just simply “this is who I am”. And quite frankly, I think that’s beautiful. They started their date at a local coffee shop, chatting over coffee and donuts – followed by cheeseburgers and drinks. I mean, seriously – could this date have been more perfect? For their engagement session, we decided to recreate that first date in Brooklyn. And then of course, we threw in a few waterfall shots for good measure!
