According to a study (that I just made up right now), there’s always less than 2 degrees of separation between any two New Yorkers, despite being a metropolitan area of more than 10 million people. Between two Asian people? Even less. You could imagine my surprise when I arrived to the reception venue only to discover that members of my own family had taken up an entire table for themselves. Auntie? Uncle? What are you guys doing here? While I had previous knowledge that the groom and I both had relatives from the same village, it never occurred to us that we could possibly be related. Well…now we knew. What are the chances, right?
