Here’s a fun fact: Lauren and Justin are actually the first of FIVE couples in their cluster of friends (whether directly or indirectly related) who’ve bestowed upon us the great honor of capturing their respective wedding days from now through 2013. At this rate, we’re going to be BFFs with all the guests by the time we get to the fifth wedding :).
But in any case, Lauren and Justin decided they would tie the knot in Anguilla – a familiar piece of paradise that’s always held a special place in their hearts. I was simultaneously happy and sad when they asked me to come along to capture this beautiful day for them. I was deliriously happy because I was getting a few more stamps in the ol’ passport, but a bit sad because I was going to be nowhere near beach-shape by their wedding day (and of course, I would be away from the wife and kid for 3 days and 2 nights…sniff, sniff). This brings us to the ultimate conclusion where I would be the fully clothed guy on the beach wearing a camera and a sexy farmer’s tan. OHHH YEAH!!!
Upon arrival at the CuisinArt Resort & Spa, I almost kinda half-expected my room to be filled with small kitchen appliances. However, I was surprised to learn that Lauren and Justin had generously set me up in a gimungo suite with this amazing view. I suppose this’ll do. I thought to myself :).
I rendez-vous’d with the rest of the guests who were already at the beach, throwing sand balls at each other.
I’ve never seen sand do that. Have you?
The bride-to-be makes her grand entrance with her adorable little daughter Sophie.
There’s actually a funny story about how a Mexican restaurant ended up in Anguilla. Some tourist guy was in the mood for a taco, but couldn’t find one on the island. Long story short, he opened one up. BEST FISH TACOS EVER!
And of course, the groom :).
It was finally time to eat, drink and get married :).
But of course, all evenings must draw to an end. And what better way to end a night than with some live music from a local legend? But alas, this was just the appetizer for the main course to come.
