When Karis and I got married 5 years ago, one of the most unwieldy projects we ever had to manage was our ever-growing guest list. For Karis’ side, it was easy. One and a half tables. BOOM. Done. I only wish my side were that easy. With 5 generations of family who practically settled in the same neighborhood (many of whom lived in the same apartment building), we effectively created our own little village. The first draft of our wedding guest list? EIGHT HUNDRED GUESTS. So yes, our wedding was essentially My Big Fat Chinese Wedding. (We ended up having two receptions with about 150-200 guests each – which is still nothing to sneeze at!)
I surmised this would be an unmatchable feat…that is, until we met Sandy & Danny. Their wedding extravaganza was held at the Mudan Banquet Center in Flushing, Queens. Here’s a peek of their day.
