The forecast called for rain that day. Well, 50% chance of rain anyway. The cynical New Yorker in me had already pre-planned all the awesome indoor locations we were going to use for their wedding photos that afternoon, but the incorrigible, optimistic gambler in me viewed the glass as slightly more than half-full; there was always that slight chance we could have perfect, rain-free weather for the remainder of Danielle & Matt’s big day. And then of course, there was always the slight possibility these two love birds would agree to run around the wet, rainy, cobblestone streets of NYC’s West Side with yours truly – but I certainly wasn’t counting on it. As the wise Seneca once said, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” My response? Turn EVERY POSSIBLE MOMENT into an opportunity. You’ll be surprised how “lucky” you may actually become.
Danielle and her girls got ready at her apartment near the Flatiron District, while Matt and his brother suited up near their final destination that evening: the spacious and modern Pier 60 & The Lighthouse in Chelsea.
It did end up raining a bit that day. But fortunately for us, the sun came out just in time for photos. Luck? Who needs it, especially when everything always seems to work itself out in the end? :)
