“You did what?!” Despite my usual reserved demeanor that I’m generally known for (or not), my outburst had already echoed throughout the hotel suite before I could tactfully and discreetly contain myself. The bride showed me her busted knee, with a giant smile on her face. “It’s a good thing your dress is long.” I laughed. “It is a long dress, right?”
Our awesome bride Angela and apparently gone running that morning with her family, a time-honored tradition for this family of runners. As a fellow runner myself, I can’t say that I wouldn’t have done the same thing myself. Exactly 6 years ago, I had also taken my groomsmen out for a run on my wedding day. With all the overwhelming stress and emotions of a typical wedding day, I really don’t think there’s a better way to release all those wedding-day jitters than a few easy miles on some asphalt. With a “Shake It Off” dance party taking place in the bridal suite, I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to kick off our wedding anniversary.
