[Engagement] Jakky & Joe – Upstate NY

Jakky & Joe engagement session took place at their family’s cabin in Upstate NY, which was perfect for all the snowy weather we’ve been getting here in the past few months. They shared many memories in this cabin, and we were recently there to capture one of them. With Joe’s expertise in building campfires, and Jakky’s mastery of brewing the perfect cup of coffee, we were totally set for one of the coziest engagement sessions ever.

Funny story.

Through their own independent research, a family member managed to sift me out of a sea of talented NJ family photographers, and subsequently gifted my services to this ridiculously photogenic family…

…not knowing these lovely folks have already had me on speed dial for years! 😅

But anyways, always a pleasure getting you wonderful folks in front of my cameras, and honored to document this milestone in your lives :). Here’s to 100 more!

A copious volume of alcohol and/or Korean BBQ may (or may not) have been consumed as a result of this super fun Coney Island engagement session.

So this session was a little sentimental for me.

Just when I thought that I had photographed everyone from my childhood at this point in my career, I received a DM from a name that I hadn’t seen in a while.

It was the baby sister of my BFF from high school.

I kid you not when I tell you that I’ve known this bride since she was seven years old. In fact, I’ve known this family for over 30 years, and they have all the zany stories (of me and my shenanigans) to prove it.

Many congrats to Jessica and Brian. I’m so incredibly honored and thrilled to be your photographer, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the family next year!

Cloudy afternoon at the seaport for a photographer is like a kid in a candy store!

For this wonderfully delightful engagement session with Alexa & Damian, we got play with all the fun shapes and colors that South Street Seaport has to offer!

So here’s a funny story:

Our handsome groom-to-be had the entire proposal planned out to a capital T. From the four dozen roses, to the perfectly decorated pavilion (much thanks to his super helpful bros), and the flawless alibi to get his future bride-to-be into Central Park without drawing any suspicion.

But as luck would have it, they hopped onto an express train by accident and overshot Central Park by about 20 blocks. 😳😳😳

If someone had checked his pants at that very moment, I’m sure you would’ve seen a ton of bricks, lol.

Of course, we all had a great laugh about it. But at the end of the day, Ren & Pekyi now have this amazingly hilarious story to share with the kids and grandkids for the rest of their lives!
