At the conclusion of this wedding, I was thoroughly convinced that I had somehow become the walking embodiment of Murphy’s Law for Wedding Photographers. While the rain did hold off until after the ceremony (and the couple had the foresight to do a first-look, thereby allowing us to wrap up their portraits long before the monsoon arrived), I was the walking disaster for pretty much the entire day. Who fell off the nightstand while trying to hang a dress by the window? This guy. Who sprained a finger on his shooting hand, as a result of that fall? This guy. Who accidentally submerged his foot, down to his ankles into the Long Island Sound during portrait time? This guy. As I squished around the reception area of the VIP Country Club and considering my options, I run into this guy. It’s not every day we have former clients/current friends in the bridal party, so bonus points on good karma and impeccable timing :). Hey, at least it wasn’t raining, right?
Vanesa first met Daniel during orientation, and as I understood it, she was not very responsive to his advances. Of course, Daniel’s persistence paid off and now he has a beautiful wife who understands Korean jokes. For all intents and purposes, that’s a winner in my book :). Their wedding at the VIP Country Club started without a hitch in their respective suites nearby.
