Generally speaking, our engagement sessions usually involve lots of impulsive humor (on my part, mostly) and my rambling musings in order to keep the environment light hearted, fun and casual. Much to Karis’ chagrin, 99% of my jokes are recycled regularly…especially during the wedding season when my comic-genius-awesomeness button is unceremoniously switched off. But truthfully, humor is probably one of the most vital ingrediets during an engagement session; it helps clients forget that they’re being photographed, and it allows us to figure out the kinds of things that get them to smile and laugh naturally. Thankfully enough, I pretty much had the day off from deploying my awesome joke-telling skills when we spent the day with Liz and Neil in the heart of Washington DC. Â Neil took over the reins and it was actually Karis and I who spent the entire engagement session laughing our heads off.
We started the day in Liz’s cozy condo across the Potomac River.
Thank you Liz and Neil for spending your day with us, and also a big shout-out to Joan and James for helping us make this possible! We are thrilled and honored to be a part of such a tremendous milestone in your lives, and we can’t wait to see you guys again!
As for us here at HQ, we’re glad to report that we’ve survived the month of May. It’s been an exhausting month, so we’re totally looking forward to island hopping with some of our awesome couples next month. June.can’t.come.fast.enough!!!!!
