To be quite honest, for the first time in my career, I was
a bit terrified mildly concerned midway through this rainy engagement session in NYC. The rain, I can do (even though this happens less than 1% of the time, promise!). Cold isn’t too bad either. But when the wind was coming in sideways with Hurricane Matthew lingering just to the south of us, and with Vivian’s hair essentially becoming a giant weather vane in the middle of Battery Park – we needed to figure out a solution, and quickly. As we dried ourselves in their apartment lobby, a realtor (whose open house was effectively a no-go on the account of Hurricane Matthew) offered an empty apartment for us to shoot in. “It’s not much,” she said. “It’s a south-facing, upper level unit with white walls and hardwood floors. Maybe it’ll work for you?”
Um….yeah, totally! This lady just saved us a trip uptown (where plan B would’ve been)!
We wrapped up their engagement session in their apartment’s clubhouse (which had beautiful lighting and colors galore). Goes to show, a little bit of patience and a whole lotta karma can go a long way!
