There’s something to be said about high school sweethearts who’ve been together for the better part of a decade; in the way they communicate with one other and how their body language just swirls around each other in such a seemingly orchestrated fashion. They’re essentially an old married couple, simply wise beyond their years. There have been no shortages of blessings in Jessica and Shawn’s lives this past year, least of which was the addition of their beautiful daughter Peyton into their lives. The cherry on top of this yummilicious sundae is the fact that Jessica and Shawn were able to secure all their first-choices on their short list of vendors for their wedding day. They’ve managed to make wedding planning look so easy!
Due to our hectic wedding schedule, we haven’t been able to squeeze in many family sessions into our calendar. We’ve taken a brief hiatus from this part of our work, lest we find ourselves on the receiving end of shaking fists from angry couples wondering where their pictures are :). Jessica and Shawn were the rare exceptions this year; we’ve never actually received family session inquiries this far in advance before, and it technically wasn’t a family session either. But regardless, this lovely family reminded me why/how I got into this photography business to begin with. Capturing life is what I do. And if they can manage to squeeze themselves on my calendar, it doesn’t matter what I’m shooting. It is, and will always be a tremendous honor when someone asks me to document such awesome milestones in their lives.
Jessica and Shawn, thank you so much for hanging out with yours truly on such a spectacular day. We hope you guys enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them. We can’t wait to see you guys in a few more weeks!
As for us, it’s only Day 2 since my return back to my animal house, after having been a seagull dad these past 4-5 days. There is some semblance of normalcy, and we can probably chalk it up to experience. As I’ve told everyone around me, the kid will be lucky we’re not bathing him in the kitchen sink :).
Happy Tuesday ya’ll!
