I always get a little self-conscious when I photograph fellow photographers. It’s a bit of a humbling and nerve-wracking experience, mostly because they have some semblance of an idea of what goes on behind the giant green curtain at the end of the yellow brick road. But nevertheless, when I met up with these two lovebirds in Uptown Hoboken (“What, there’s an Uptown and Downtown?!” – precisely what I said), I was delighted to hear the words: “Ben, just do what you’ve gotta do. We completely trust you.”
I was hardly able to contain my joy & appreciation :).
In true photographer fashion, Audra & Israel elected to start their engagement session in the least congested part of town during the late afternoon of an overcast day. They made this way too easy :). We took a quick ferry ride into the city, to the exact spot of where they first met, laid eyes on each other, and fell in love: Penn Station.
