Music played a huge role in my childhood (I played piano and violin, mostly – as every good Asian kid should), so I was immediately fascinated when Thomas revealed to us that Olivia was utterly, devestatingly enamored with his spellbinding trombone-playing abilities (not precisely verbatim, but it’s how I remember the story). Since our first meeting, we I strongly suggested to Thomas that we I needed to photograph him playing the trombone for Olivia again, and I literally used every passive-aggressive, sweet-talking approach in my arsenal. I tried and tried, but to no avail; something about them being “precision musical instruments” and whatnot :).
When I arrived at Olivia’s home on the morning of their big day, it had been almost two years since I’d met these two love birds, and almost a year since I last had them in front of my cameras. I was elated. So where does a girl from Queens and a fella from Brooklyn celebrate their wedding? In Long Island, of course.
And of course, some photobooth fun (it’s been a while!)
