We don’t get as many opportunities to capture non-weddings these days. While we’re grateful for this evolution in our business, we do miss hanging out with just a small group of subjects with only our cameras in hand. As I’ve mentioned before, there are many things that make our work so exceptionally fulfilling; while we enjoy creating beautiful images for our clients, what we love most about our work is when a client becomes a friend. It implies some element of trust, and allows us to move and capture freely in their environment without appearing like a giant pink elephant who crashed their party :).
But most importantly, we get the opportunity to see everyone again, long after the wedding’s said and done.
So it goes without saying that we’re absolutely honored that we’ve become a household name among Margot and Alex‘s friends and family when it comes to the topic of anything photography related. Stephanie was a bridesmaid at their wedding this past August, and recently reached out to us for a special request. She was going to be celebrating her 30th birthday, an appropriately 1930’s themed celebration in one of the last remaining speak-easy’s in NYC, and wanted yours truly to help her document this momentous occasion.
How could I possibly resist? :)
