As I sit here behind my desk, 6 coffees into my editing/blogging marathon, there’s a wonderful stew of emotions, imagery (and caffeine!) that’s been warming my heart and leaving me utterly speechless. It’s a feeling that’s been simmering these past few weeks while we’ve been working on these images, and these end results have filled me with pure, indescribable joy. In case you missed the memo a few months ago, we found ourselves in a little bit of a crisis. Long story short, Karis (along with many of our friends, colleagues and good Samaritans) stepped up to the plate and helped save one of the most important days of Julie & Tim’s lives.
As many of you know, Karis has always been an indispensable part of our lil’ dream to take over the world of wedding photography. Though only my name appears on the logo, we are very much a husband-and-wife team. In the time we’ve been on this wedding photography adventure, she’s unquestionably done half the work (and sometimes more, if I nudge her hard enough), but has received very little of the credit. And while I’ve hardly expressed this enough, both publicly and privately, I’m proud of the photographer my wife has become. She’s produced some of the most amazing images for both of our brands over the years, and many folks have long admired her work without even realizing it.
While it’s unfortunate it took a crisis to bring us this opportunity, Karis’ time to shine had finally come; and we couldn’t have asked for a more awesome couple to share this moment with her.
Julie & Tim are a sweet and adorable couple, surrounded by some of the FUNNIEST people we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. We’ve heard hundreds of toasts in our career as wedding photographers, and these folks simply left us decimated and teary-eyed…from laughter. Despite everything these two had gone through just merely 36 hours before, their wedding day turned out to be everything they ever dreamt of…and more. I’m just grateful that we were able to capture this joy for them, so that they may cherish these moments for many years to come.
