When we got married a number of years ago, Karis and I were offered a large matted poster-print of one of the images we had taken during our pre-wedding session. While it was nice, the thing was just so abso-freaking-lutely ginormous. “Where the heck are we going to hang this thing?” was our first response, which ironically is exactly what our clients say when we offer those same posters to them. But the premise is simple: guests write their blessings on the matte as they arrive to your wedding reception, and you frame this large portrait somewhere in the house, hopefully where nobody notices the fact that your hilarious cousin Bobby drew a goatee on your wife’s chin after too many drinks at your open bar on your wedding day.
But as for us, we were (and still are) a pretty vanilla couple and opted to keep our framed posters in pristine condition, and chose to have a sign-in book instead. However back in our day, we were limited to those traditional sign-in books filled with pages of straight horizontal lines where the guests would try to squeeze in as many words as possible. Of course, it’s not like that any more :).
We may never know what we did correctly that helped us seal the deal with Maricar and Izaak‘s wedding, but I’d like to think it was this uber-cool sign-in book that they specifically requested. Even though it wasn’t on the menu at the time, it made absolute sense why our brides (and grooms) would want it. It accomplishes three awesome things: people can write in it, it’s got pretty pictures in it, but most importantly, it’s portable. Think of it as a mini album where people get to scribble in/around/on your photos without feeling guilty. It’s a win/win for everyone :).
Just check out the lovely craftsmanship on this thing! The padded image-wrap cover gives it a fantastic, soft feel.
Each page is individually mounted on a board, giving it a nice durable, album-y feel to the pages.
The pages lay flat when opened, allowing for seamless images to spread across two pages. Imagine your wide screen tv, but in book form :).
Each page is designed to client’s specs before it goes into production. Textured paper also prevents accidental smudging.
Most importantly, it’s portable.
And I think all of our clients are going to love it.
(For the record, we have been married for 4 years and we still haven’t figured out where to hang our framed poster prints!)
