At first glance, this session appears to be just another DUMBO engagement session. But as we delve a little deeper, we’ll delightedly discover that this was much, much more than that. Underneath all that frolicking and merriment along Brooklyn’s cobblestone streets was a happily married couple on vacation to NYC for the first time, who simply wanted to document this adventure with only the most spectacular tour guide/photographer the Big Apple has ever seen (ahem, ahem). When I first received their inquiry, I’ll have to admit: I was a bit wary about receiving two inquiries for portrait sessions just 20 minutes apart. Throw in the fact that both these couples were already married, you could imagine the bemused look on my face that morning. But nevertheless, I now had the arduous task of not only producing fun, off-the-beaten-path kind of images that put me on their radars in the first place, but now I had the pressure of making sure I did a good job representing this great city!
Our first stop was Central Park, and Nick’s first observation was (more or less verbatim): “This pervasive odor of horse manure and overall dustiness…is this normal for New York City?”
My answer (also more or less verbatim)Â was a resounding “YEAH-HA! Welcome to New York City!”

Jayson & Nick, we hope you had a fantastic adventure here in the Big Apple. We’re super honored to be part of this journey of yours, and we hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
If I could only get away with wearing cargo shorts and running shoes on actual wedding days in the summertime, I’ll be set!
Happy Wednesday!
