“Don’t worry…” I said to Julia and Jeff as I sat them by the stairs. “If you feel a little bit silly, I’m probably doing this right.” They shifted around uncomfortably before settling into each others arms. “Trust me…I think.” I reassured them (kinda). They looked at each other and let out a nervous laugh. Click-click. And just like that, we kicked off the year with our first engagement session of the year! And what better place to do it than the beautiful grounds of Princeton University?
The weather gods had been unkind to us all season, taunting us with breezy 60° weather only to hit us with a snowquester the following day. This didn’t bode well for Julia and Jeff, who flew all the way in from Miami in order to shoot their engagement session at their alma mater. Luckily for them, they arrived a few days after the snow had melted. If anything at all, this meant I could sit them on things :).
I’ve shot on the campus before, but not with previous students. Despite my infamous reputation for trespassing on private property, I was never brazen (or youthful-looking) enough to tailgate into the dormitories/libraries (who’s that creep with the camera?). But having these two leading the way took a humongo load off my back :).
Typical :).
Julia and Jeff, thank you so much for spending your day with me! We can’t wait to see you guys again in sunny Miami next year, and we’ll make sure we leave Old Man Winter behind :). We hope you enjoy these images as much as we enjoyed capturing them.
As for us here at HQ, we’ve been super productive and trying out new post-processing techniques. What do ya’ll think? Leave your comments below :).
Happy Wednesday!
